Kenosha Orchestra Boosters

The meeting was held at Lincoln Middle School.  Students from the school orchestra played from 6:45 till 7:00 p.m. Refreshments were served.

Invited guest: Jennifer Dooley of Dooley and Associates

Ms. Dooley gave a brief presentation of her marketing company. They would work with us designing, selling advertising and getting the printing done for programs that would be handed out at orchestra events. A large percentage of the profits would come back to the boosters.  Ms. Dooley has worked with the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce and many other businesses in the Kenosha area.  We will discuss this more at future meetings.

Fundraising options: Angela Brooker will present ideas at a future meeting. We will also discuss new t-shirt designs.

 The Afternoon Tea will be held Sunday February 15, 2009 at Mahone Middle School from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m.  The Tea will feature Rachel Barton Pine and Kenosha Unified Orchestra students.

There will be a set-up for the tea on Friday December 13th from 4:30 to 6:30.

Solo and Ensemble is on Saturday March 7th, 2009 at Bradford High School starting at 8:00 a.m. and going till 4:00 p.m.  Breakfast will be served at 7:00 a.m. to the judges and lunch will be served from 11:00 - 1:00 to the judges and directors.  The breakfast and lunch will be supplied and served by the orchestra boosters. Hot beef and mostaccioli will be ordered and deserts and salads will be brought in by parents who will be reimbursed. Receipts for food and supplies will be turned into the treasurer. 

The orchestra directors will ask for parent volunteers and forward a list of names to Dr. Wells by February 27th.

Orchestra Fest will be discussed at the next meeting.

Other Business: The possibility of still doing scholarships for this year was brought up and Dr. Wells will give us an update at the next meeting.

The next Orchestra Booster meeting will be held at Bradford High School on Monday March  9th, 2009 in orchestra room 129 (please come in the auditorium doors).

  Bradford orchestra members will be playing at 6:45 and the meeting will start at 7:00 p.m., refreshments will be served.
